Legion – S2E7 – Chapter 15

Ostensibly, on Legion: “Chapter 14”

Amal Farouk is an unapologetic as you’d imagine he’d be when confronted by David about Amy’s death. To Amal, Amy was a distraction holding David back from embracing his full power. It’s hard to tell if Amal wants David to reach his absolute potential because he respects David or he needs a full-powered David for his own means.

Farouk takes his own trip to speak with future Syd and he’s delighted to learn that David is the threat Farouk is needed to stop. He seems unconcerned that David is supposed to kill him fairly soon. After all, he’s a god and gods make the rules. Syd doesn’t fully trust Farouk which means David must be quite the villain if she’s willing to deal with Farouk to defeat him.

The rest of the episode is a trip into the truly bizarre as the insanity bug presented at the beginning of the season comes into play. Ptonomy is infected, and later so is Kerry, Syd, and Clark. They become convinced that Admiral Fukyama is not what he seems and means to harm them. They take on Vermillion to get to him and force him to remove the basket. Where we see an Asian man, they see a creature. David returns from his meeting with Farouk in time to remove the insanity (literally pulling the bugs from their foreheads) from Syd and Clark, and stop them from killing Fukyama.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t save Ptonomy and his body is torn open as the queen insanity bug emerges from it. In order to save his mind, Vermillion uploads it to the mainframe. David hunts down the giant bug and gives it an opportunity to live if it will stop causing trouble. It charges him, and he reduces its size until it can fit into a jar. And then he blows it up with his mind. And he looks quite pleased with himself.
