New Game Trailers Out of E3 2015

There’s so much news coming out of E3 it can be a bit overwhelming for even the most avid gamer. Don’t worry, though: We’ve got you covered. Here’s a look at some of the new game trailers and gameplay videos coming out of day one.

Horizon Zero Dawn

From Guerrilla Games, developer of the successful Killzone series, Horizon: Zero Dawn is set in a post-apocalyptic world where man has come into war against cybernetic animals. Horizon: Zero Dawn is Guerrilla Games’ first non-Killzone title since 2004′s Shellshock: Nam ’67. The gameplay video below shows the game’s protagonist, Aloy, fighting mechanical animals with a bow and arrow. Take that, Terminator: Genisys.

The game’s summary is as follows: “As Horizon Zero Dawn’s main protagonist Aloy, a skilled hunter, explore a vibrant and lush world inhabited by mysterious mechanized creatures. Embark on a compelling, emotional journey and unravel mysteries of tribal societies, ancient artifacts and advanced technologies that will determine the fate of this planet, and of life itself.”

Horizon: Zero Dawn is scheduled to be released in 2016.

The Last Guardian Gameplay

The Last Guardian is the latest game from Team Ico, developer of Shadow of the Colossus, and SCE Japan Studio. The game’s plot revolves around the developing friendship between a boy and Trico, a creature resembling a baby griffin. The Last Guardian has been in development since 2007.

The gameplay video shows the boy and Trico trying to work together to escape the ruins of a crumbling castle, calling to mind sequences from BioShock: Infinite mixed with the developer’s previous game Shadow of the Colossus.

The Last Guardian is scheduled to finally see release in 2016, as a Playstation 4 exclusive.

Mirrors Edge 2

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is a reboot of Electronic Arts’ popular 2008 title Mirror’s Edge. The previous game was praised, at the time, for its unique first-person playing experience. Although most of the development team of Mirror’s Edge did not return to work on the reboot, Catalyst does appear to bring back the first game’s stylish design and immersive gameplay to reveal more of the series’ protagonist Faith’s past.

With the promise of no load screens or structured levels, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst looks to recapture some of the uniqueness of Mirror’s Edge when it releases on February 23, 2016, on all platforms.

Rainbow Six Siege

A few weeks ago we had our first look at Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege. Now, the White Masks trailer reveals a bit more about the game’s plot: Team Rainbow is the shield protecting civilized society from unknown terrorists who attack regardless of age, nationality, or religion.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will be available on all consoles on October 13, 2015

Metal Gear Solid 5

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain: Kojima Productions’ upcoming open world action-adventure stealth game has an interesting origins story. In 2012, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes was announced at the Metal Gear 25th Anniversary party. Later that year, a trailer for The Phantom Pain was aired during the Spike TV Video Game Awards. It was presented as a title by fictional game company Moby Dick Studios, the Metal Gear Solid logo hidden. Now, those two titles have merged with Ground Zeroes serving as a prequel story and The Phantom Pain making up the bulk of the gameplay. Have a look at the trailer:
