Last night, during the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, Conan O’Brien did a great job hosting, lots of predictably questionable winners were announced, and Orlando Bloom briefly attempted to speak into his “Best Fight” Golden Popcorn award as if it were a microphone; he hoped nobody would notice, but I noticed. Anyway, all the usual stuff took place, but something else we got to see was this all-new clip from the opening battle in X-Men: Days of Future Past. It’s pretty awesome. Take a look below.
There will reportedly be yet another trailer released for X-Men: Days of Future Past tomorrow (April 15, 2014), but until then, we’ve got this great new clip to tide us over, and boy does it deliver.
So we have the return of favorites like Iceman (Shawn Ashmore), Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page), and Colossus (Daniel Cudmore); they’re all looking great, and it’s nice to see them again… but I’m not even going to bury the lead: look at Bishop being all Bishop! Omar Sy is finally bringing my favorite X-Men character to life, and I really can’t express how awesome it is to see. Just look at him!
X-Men: Days of Future Past, directed by Bryan Singer from a screenplay by Simon Kinberg based on the Days of Future Past storyline from The Uncanny X-Men, stars a ton of people; alongside the above mentioned stars are: James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Peter Dinklage, and so many more that it almost seems insane. The film will release May 23, 2014.
